World Cancer Day

February 4th is World Cancer Day. This day is utilized to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment.

Smoking causes about 20% of all cancers and about 30% of all cancer deaths in the United States. About 80% of lung cancers, as well as about 80% of all lung cancer deaths, are due to smoking. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. Smoking also increases the risk of many other cancers not lung related. If you or a loved one are using any type of tobacco product, know that we are here to help: https://tobaccofreedelco.org/

Each day Little Red Door Cancer Agency aids in the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer. Their cooking demonstrations aren’t just a yummy meal, they’re a step towards a healthier life and preventing cancer. Every referral to a partner agency for a mammogram or colonoscopy aids in early detection. And every ride to treatment is aiding in fighting this horrible disease. They aim to "Make the most of life and least of cancer". To support this non-profit and impact the lives in your community check out: https://www.littlereddoor.org/donors/

I hope you can support a loved one on their journey to become tobacco free before cancer strikes. #CancerSucks #TobaccoFree
