Detroit Airport to ignore public health

While every company wants to increase profits, should it come at the price of health and safety?

Read the article below about a proposal for Michigan’s largest airport to open a cigar bar. It’s your right to smoke if you so choose, but to expose others to the dangerous side effects of secondhand and thirdhand smoke shouldn’t be up for discussion. The Detroit airport sees people from all over the world. Some of those people are children, some have respiratory complications, and others are fighting ailments that are easily exacerbated by smoke. Can you imagine heading towards your vacation destination only to have an asthma attack because the airport you’re flying through decided to establish a cigar bar. Hopefully Michigan doesn’t regress public health and they can find another business opportunity to fill their space.
